Shanghai-Hong Kong Commercial Mediation Forum
The Shanghai-Hong Kong Commercial Mediation Forum (“the Forum”) has been held since 2012. The Forum is held every two years, alternately in Shanghai and Hong Kong. It is an influential platform for exchanging views on professional commercial mediation in China.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) has long supported the Forum. In August 2021, it co-organised the 5th Forum with the Shanghai Law Society, the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center, the Hong Kong Mediation Council, the Hong Kong Joint Mediation Helpline Office and the China Commercial Mediation Development Cooperation Mechanism.
The DoJ also co-organised the 6th Forum with the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center and the Hong Kong Mediation Council in November 2023 during the DoJ’s annual flagship event “Hong Kong Legal Week”.
The 7th Shanghai-Hong Kong Commercial Mediation Forum was held successfully in Shanghai on 19 September 2025.
